Behave Your Motion

Habit-preserved cross-category animal motion transfer (ACM MM 2025)

Behave Your Motion studies cross-category animal motion transfer with explicit habit preservation.

Existing motion transfer methods often confuse transferable motion semantics with species-specific movement habits. This project defines the habit preservation problem, builds a multi-category animal motion dataset, and proposes a VQ-VAE based framework with species priors and habit-aware conditioning.

The method preserves source motion semantics while maintaining target-species habits, and leverages large language models to provide habit priors for unseen categories, improving zero-shot cross-category motion transfer.
